Convicted of violence against five daughters, the Russian denied the complaint

In the Yaroslavl region, a 52-year-old man convicted of years of sexual abuse of five daughters, tried to reduce the 22-year sentence. He partially pleaded guilty but denied committing crimes against girls under 14. The second court of cassation of general jurisdiction on October 13 left the sentence unchanged, reports 76.RU.

The victims in the criminal case recognized three relatives and two adopted daughters of the man. According to the publication, the crimes continued from 2010 to 2022. What happened in the family became known only in 2024.

According to the investigation, the man began to commit illegal acts against children aged 36 years. Initially, it was about harassment, but later the violence became more serious. When the older daughters reached the age of 17-18, the father turned his attention to the younger girls.

The investigation established 11 criminal episodes. Among them are three cases of sexual violence against children under 14 years of age, three more episodes of sexual violence against minors, four rape of minors and one episode of sexual abuse against a child under 16 years of age.

In November 2025, the Tutaev City Court found the man guilty and sentenced him to 22 years in prison. In addition, the court established a restriction of freedom for 2 years.

The convict did not agree with the verdict and appealed to the cassation instance. The defense insisted that the illegal actions began when the victims were already 14 years old. Thus, the man tried to challenge part of the charge and achieve a reduction in punishment.

However, the court of cassation found no grounds for reviewing the sentence. As a result of the meeting on October 13, 2026, the punishment imposed remained in force.
