A resident of Sochi found in his house five clay cocoons, which, presumably, arranged wasps-pelopei. Inside were paralyzed spiders designed to feed future larvae. This was reported by the Telegram channel SHOT.
At first, the woman mistook unusual formations for spider nests. After she broke one of the cocoons, many spiders were found inside, some of which were still moving. The owner collected the contents with a vacuum cleaner.
Female wasps build nests of clay, lay eggs in them and place immobilized spiders there. Such prey serves as food for the larvae that have appeared.
Experts recommend not trying to destroy unknown nests and cocoons. If such formations are found in a residential area, it is more reasonable to contact a professional service for insect control.
Wasps can sting if they feel threatened, including when trying to destroy their nest. Therefore, when detecting such structures, it is important to be careful not to touch them unnecessarily.
Earlier it was reported that fish in Sochi for the year rose by 20%.
