A foreigner was detained near Astrakhan for a crime against a teenager at home

During the second stage of the federal operation “Illegal-2026”, the security forces stopped the attempt to leave the country of a foreign citizen who was on the interstate wanted list. The detention was carried out jointly by employees of the migration department, criminal investigation officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Krasnoyarsky, as well as representatives of the Border Department of the FSB of Russia for the Republic of Kalmykia and the Astrakhan region.

The suspect, a young man born in 2004, tried to cross the border through the Karausek checkpoint using associated transport. According to the investigation, in March a criminal case was initiated against him in his homeland under paragraph “a” of part 3 of Article 128 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (entering into sexual intercourse with a person under 16 years of age). The court in absentia chose him a measure of restraint in the form of arrest.

An inspection of the departmental database showed that the foreigner was in Russia illegally. Before his arrest, he worked for several months at a construction site in the Volgograd region. For violation of the rules of stay in the country, the man was brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1.1 of Article 18.8 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation.

Astrakhan police notified about the detention of the Department of coordination of activities of the internal affairs bodies of the Andijan region. Now the defendant is in a pre-trial detention center, he is awaiting extradition to Uzbekistan.
