Suspect in phone theft at Tver railway station detained

Tver transport police detained a suspect in stealing a phone from an introscope placed in the building of the railway station, told in Tver LO of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on transport.

A passenger approached the police. She said that she put the phone in a plastic box for small things, which she put on the tape of the introscope. After the inspection, she went to the tape, but did not find the smartphone in the drawer.

Police identified the suspect and detained him. The man admitted that on that day he was passing through the area of security and was near the victim. Seeing that she temporarily left the phone unattended on the introscope tape, he appropriated it. The device was seized and returned to the owner after inspection.

A criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The man is under a subscription not to leave. The investigation is ongoing.
