Teenagers forced a robot to grab a girl and fake rape

In Germany are investigating the attack on a 16-year-old girl, which is allegedly involved in a robot with remote control. According to police, the robot took the girl by the buttocks and made movements that mimic sexual violence.

The incident occurred late on October 11 outside a fast food restaurant in Cologne. The girl was there with friends when a humanoid robot about 120 centimeters tall approached her from behind.

Police believe that the incident was observed by two young people – a 16-year-old owner of the device and his 19-year-old companion. According to law enforcement officers, they filmed what was happening on video, conducted a live broadcast in social networks and commented on the actions of the robot.

After the attack was reported, police found suspects nearby. The robot was found in the trunk of a Volkswagen car.

Police seized the device and two phones. Investigators are now looking into how the robot worked at the time of the incident and who was controlling it. An investigation is under way on suspicion of sexual harassment.
