Tremors of magnitude 4.8 recorded in the Pacific Ocean

An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 occurred on Friday night in the Pacific Ocean off the east coast of Kamchatka. This was reported by the regional branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of RAS.

The epicenter of the tremors was 181 kilometers southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The hearth lay at a depth of 17 kilometers under the seabed.

Information on the strength of the earthquake in settlements is not given. No tsunami threat has been announced.
