Police in Ogun state of Nigeria have arrested a suspect in the murder of 61-year-old former Adedotun teacher Adetyu Oluwaseun

Police in the Nigerian state of Ogun announced the arrest of a suspect in the murder of 61-year-old former teacher Adedotun Adeteja Oluwaseun. Her body was found at home in Abeokuta a day after a holiday that colleagues hosted on the occasion of her retirement, the Punch newspaper reported.
Suspect Saburi Latif Ayinde was detained on October 19. The woman’s body was found on February 28. The investigation was conducted by the state criminal investigation unit.
According to the police, the attack was preceded by a conflict. The representative of the department Oluseyi Babasei said that the detainee confessed to the murder and linked the incident with a monetary relationship with the victim.
The suspect claims that he transferred 3.45 million naira (about 192 thousand rubles) to the woman for storage and expected to receive a loan of 1.5 million naira from her to buy a car. Investigators are checking this story. It cannot yet be considered an established motive for the crime.
Police said that after the investigation is completed, the case will be sent to court.
