Lost in the production of hands Bryanets achieved compensation of more than 4.5 million rubles

The prosecutor’s office of Bezhitsky district of Bryansk helped a 37-year-old man who lost both hands in an accident at work. According to the court decision, the employer must pay the victim more than 4.5 million rubles.

The inspection showed that the man worked as a roofer for an individual entrepreneur under an employment contract. In January 2025, while working on a crushing machine, he received serious injuries. He was allowed to the equipment without protective equipment, prior training and instruction.

After the incident, the employer, as established by the prosecutor’s office, tried to avoid responsibility and issued an order to dismiss the man on the date preceding the accident.

The prosecutor’s office appealed to the court with the requirement to recognize the dismissal as illegal, to recover salary arrears and interest for its delay, compensation for unused leave and moral harm. Also, the supervisory authority demanded to recognize the incident as an accident at work and oblige the employer to conduct an investigation.

The court satisfied the requirements of the prosecutor and decided to recover in favor of the man more than 4.5 million rubles. After the decision comes into force, the prosecutor’s office will monitor its implementation.
