Inspectors of the Directorate of protected areas of the Leningrad region helped to detain a man suspected of poaching. According to the press service of the Ministry, employees noticed the injured animal and the alleged hunter on the track outside the protected area. Recall that for the extraction of one moose in the season 2026-2027, the mandatory federal fee is 1,500 rubles.
Specialists were driving from one object to another when they saw an elk on the road. A few minutes later, the animal died from a serious wound. While the inspectors called the police, a man came out of the forest to a nearby car with a scattered gun and two dogs. The nature guards, together with the rangers, quickly detained him and handed him over to the police.
Recall that raids against poachers are all year round and around the clock. Illegal hunting faces a large fine or imprisonment, and inspectors have every right to inspect the cars of violators and seize weapons.
