The press service of Lenoblpozhspass told the story of a fire in the village of Kovshovo, Gatchina district. It happened around three o'clock on the afternoon of October 6. The personnel of the 4th guard of the Gatchina detachment of Lenoblpozhspass left for the scene. Smoke fell from under the roof of the house, and the hostess was not at home.
Firefighters started extinguishing. Thanks to coordinated actions, the spread of fire was quickly stopped. He managed only to damage the internal situation on an area of 8 square meters. But the smoke was strong.
Neighbors said there may be a cat in the house. And firefighters know that every life saved is important - a person, a bird or an animal.
Firefighter Andrey Zelepukin found the cat immediately. But I saw on the floor more than 6 bowls of cat food and realized that the cat in the house is not alone. The soldiers started looking for other animals. In total, there were 10 adult animals and three kittens in the house. They hid in chairs, in the lining of the seat and survived.
On the street, firefighters gave cats heart massage, soldered off with water. Some animals were in serious condition: they pretty much swallowed carbon monoxide, one cat had serious burns.
And rescuers took them to the nearest veterinary clinic, in Vyritsa. There, the tails were provided with professional assistance: they were saturated with oxygen, stabilized the condition and prescribed treatment.
Andrey Zelepukin took care of the rescued tails. He opened a fundraiser in social networks and helped the kids in finding a new home. He took a kitten to his house and gave him the name Coralek. The rest of the youngest survivors, a boy and a girl, are now called Smoke and Smoke.
The most “heavy”, 8-year-old cat Timothy, with lung burns and tissue necrosis, is nursed by a charitable foundation. So he's getting better, too.
The press service of Lenoblpozhspass said that many thanks were received from neighbors and volunteers. They thanked firefighters for saving small cat lives. And especially Andrei Zelepukin. If he hadn't noticed the bowls on the floor, all the cats would have died.
When it burns around, people are so stressed that they can forget about their pets. Or they'll hide so they can't be found. Therefore, firefighters always remember that in any house, in any apartment, except for people, there may be someone who needs to be rescued.
Earlier, “MK in Leningrad region” said that firefighters rescued 8 people and two cats during a fire in a high-rise building in Bugra.
