The cause of every sixth fire in Chuvashia was a faulty oven

In the village of Kugesi, employees of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for Chuvashia, together with representatives of the All-Russian Voluntary Fire Society, conducted a preventive raid “Housing”.

Since the beginning of 2026, 927 fires have been registered in the republic. Due to violations of the rules of operation of furnaces, 161 fires occurred, four people died, four more were injured. Violations in the use of electrical equipment caused 316 fires. Also recorded 80 fires in the baths, which often lead to damage to residential buildings.

During the raid, inspector Yevgeny Karpov told residents about the dangers of cracks in the stove masonry, soot accumulation and improper storage of combustible materials. The head of the local branch of the VDPO Natalia Petrova distributed memos on fire safety.

Specialists visited several farms. Residents thanked them for their useful recommendations.

The Ministry of Emergencies reminds: it is necessary to regularly clean the chimney, timely eliminate cracks, not leave the burning stove unattended and keep combustible materials at a safe distance.
