In the U.S. state of Minnesota, the former professor of biology, 55-year-old Paul Fisher, who taught at the private college Macalester (St. Paul), is facing criminal charges of intentional damage to first-degree property. This is reported by the newspaper The Guardian, citing court documents.
The teacher became the subject of the investigation after in December last year one of the students found urine on her backpack, which she left unattended for only six minutes. The damage to her belongings was estimated at 2070 dollars.
Police found that the administration of the college for a year conducted an internal audit in the scientific building Olin-Rice, where recorded at least six suspicious cases. Urine traces were found in garbage cans, drinking water bottles and even decorative items in offices.
According to the case file, Fisher admitted that for the past year and a half to two, he used a glass to collect urine, the contents of which were then poured into dumpsters or laboratory sinks.
On the day of the backpack incident, he claimed to have accidentally spilled liquid while trying to get rid of the container's contents.
The former employee, who worked at the college for 25 years, left the position in an internal investigation. If convicted, the man faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to 10 thousand dollars.
