Jealous from Berdyansk district received 6 years of strict for trying to kill an opponent

In Berdyansk district, a jealous man received 6 years 6 months in a strict regime colony for attempted murder.

The incident occurred in April 2026 in the village of Novovasilievka: after a quarrel with his wife, citizen B. suspected her in connection with a friend P., found them together and made a scandal. Later, the conflict continued in the house of the couple and grew into a fight – B. inflicted multiple stab wounds, including in the area of vital organs. The woman managed to separate the men and call an ambulance - the victim was rescued.

The court qualified B.’s actions as attempted murder (part 3 of article 30, part 1 of article 105 of the criminal code). Mitigating circumstances recognized partial admission of guilt, the presence of four minor children and immoral behavior of the victim. The court found no aggravating factors. The verdict was made by the Berdyansk Interdistrict Court of Zaporizhia region.
