Emergency mode announced in Yalta after falling more than 400 mm of rain

In Yalta declared a state of emergency of a municipal nature due to flooding after heavy rains. From October 17 to 19, more than 400 mm of precipitation fell in the municipal district, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea reported to MAKS.

The most difficult situation remains in the village of Koreiz on the southern coast of Crimea. Rescuers worked there all night, focusing on three sites. Two streets were cleared of stones and large debris, two temporary dams were erected. 295 sandbags were used to protect against the water.

In the administration of the village there is an interdepartmental operational headquarters. Specialists are constantly monitoring the situation. According to the resolution of the Yalta administration, flooding is recognized as a natural emergency of a municipal nature with a local level of response.

Downpours also flooded several private homes in Sudak. On Alushtinskaya Street, a powerful stream of water flooded the street and the territory of one of the houses. Emergency rescue efforts are continuing.

In the village of Veseloye on Lenin Street, the water entered the plots and the basement of the house. Pumping was quickly completed.

Over the past day in the municipal districts of Alushta, Sudak, Feodosia, Yalta and Bakhchisarai district recorded falls of trees and lighting pillars. In total, 187 people and 38 units of equipment were involved in the elimination of the consequences of bad weather.

The storm warning in Crimea was effective from 17 to 19 October. It provided for heavy rains, wind gusts up to 25 m / s, rising water in the rivers to unfavorable levels and the threat of small mudflows.
