Since the beginning of the year in the Kostroma region identified more than 1,300 drunk drivers

Since the beginning of 2026, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the region during raids identified more than 1,300 drivers who drove vehicles in a state of alcoholic intoxication. Of these, 128 people got behind the wheel again, which entailed criminal liability.

Due to the fault of drunk motorists, 84 road accidents occurred, in which 10 people died.

The statistics are supported by specific cases.

Makarievsky district. The 21-year-old driver on a moped, having 0.79 ml / l of alcohol in the exhaled air, failed to control and overturned. The young man was injured.

Kostroma. A 50-year-old woman with 30 years of driving experience crashed into the support of a road sign. She refused a medical examination, although her condition in the patrol car indicated she was clearly intoxicated.

The traffic police reminds that alcohol behind the wheel is incompatible with any driving experience.
