In Moscow, an 18-year-old young man was detained near Filevsky Park, suspected of participating in a fraudulent scheme, the victim of which was a family that lost more than 9.5 million rubles.
According to law enforcement agencies, the young man called persons who introduced themselves as employees of departments and reported trouble with relatives. The interlocutors convinced him to urgently “declar” all savings and conduct a so-called “online search” of the apartment.
Having believed the scammers, the guy fulfilled their instructions and left the key to the apartment in the parking lot of the house, the official Moscow police channel reports. When family members returned home, they found the safe had been sawed and money stolen. The total damage exceeded 9.5 million rubles.
Law enforcement officers detained the suspect on Highway street. During the proceedings, it turned out that the young man purchased a tool for opening the safe, stole the money and handed it over to the curator. A criminal case has been opened on this fact.
A preventive measure in the form of house arrest was chosen against the detainee. Police are still searching for other members of the criminal group. The investigation establishes all the circumstances of the incident and the role of each person involved in the theft.
