“Shopping” at someone else’s expense: in Pskov detained a serial shoplifter who cleaned the shelves with coffee and hygiene

The lover of “freebies” got caught in a series of daring, but not the most intellectual thefts. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Pskov revealed a chain of store thefts that occurred in the regional center from August to October this year.

According to the investigation, the young man acted according to the same scheme: he went into trading halls and, using free access to goods, carried them freely without paying at the checkout. His “favorite” points were shops on the streets of Jubilee and Leon Pozemsky, as well as in Fire Lane. The thief’s prey was food, coffee and personal hygiene products. Apparently, the young man decided to fully provide himself with everything necessary at the expense of the owners of retail outlets.

The operatives had to carry out a set of measures to calculate the “client”. He was a 24-year-old (born 2002) unemployed resident of the Ostrovsky municipal district. It is noteworthy that the young man already has a criminal record, but, apparently, past experience has not corrected it.

How does this end for a thief?

Currently, the defendant is charged with committing four episodes of theft. Criminal cases were initiated under Part 1 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft”), the sanction of which provides for punishment up to two years in prison. Moreover, the police do not exclude that on the account of the detainee may be other similar crimes — now established his possible involvement in them.

The court decision against the young man has already chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention. The investigation is ongoing.

And “free” cheese, as you know, happens only in a mousetrap, and the payback for it comes much faster than it seems.
