Deadly crash under Silver Ponds: three teenagers killed in collision with truck

The tragedy turned Saturday’s trip for a group of young people in the south-east of the Moscow region. At about 23:00 on the 68th kilometer of the federal highway M6 in the Serebryano-Prudsk city district there was a head-on collision that claimed the lives of three minors.

According to preliminary data of the regional traffic police, the human factor played a fatal role. The driver of the truck "MAN", following in the fleet of one of the trading houses, when leaving the secondary road did not provide an advantage in the movement of the passenger. As a result of the maneuver, a multi-ton machine rammed the VAZ-2114, moving along the main highway.

The blow was fatal for the passengers of “Zhigulya”. Three girls, aged 14 and 15, died at the scene before the ambulance arrived. The 19-year-old man who drove a domestic car survived, but received serious injuries. He is now in a hospital where doctors are fighting for his life.

During the proceedings, shocking details about the driver of the car were revealed. The young man received a driving license only in May of this year. That night he took a car to ride three of his acquaintances. In addition, traffic police officers had questions about the technical condition and documentation of VAZ: the car has 11 unpaid fines. Six of them were issued for exceeding the speed limit, two for operating a faulty vehicle, and three for violations in the field of compulsory insurance.

Unlike the young rusher, the 43-year-old driver of the MAN truck (also referred to as MAZ) was absolutely sober at the time of the accident. Currently, law enforcement officers establish all the circumstances of the accident, the issue of initiating a criminal case is being resolved.
