The collision of two ships ended in the death of a person in the Russian region

In the Republic of Altai on Lake Teletskoye there was a fatal accident involving two ships. As a result of the collision of the boat with the equipment of the barge, a man who controlled a small vessel died. On the fact of the tragedy opened a criminal case. According to preliminary data, the incident occurred on October 14, 2026 at about 22:00 near the village of Yaylu. The boat and the barge moved towards each other in the dark without lights on.

During the approach, the boat crashed into the lifting device of the barge. From his injuries, the boatmaster died at the scene. People on board the barge were not injured.

The Eastern Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case under the article on violation of traffic safety rules and operation of water transport, which resulted in the death of a person. Investigators and criminologists find out all the circumstances of the tragedy and establish the causes of the collision.
