The Louvre staff detained a 26-year-old student who illegally entered the museum after it closed. This was reported by the newspaper Ouest-France.
The young man was found on the night of 16-17 October in one of the technical corridors. He got there through the fire exit, having previously photographed several other entrances. Arriving at the scene, the police found that during the penetration, the damage was not caused, and the alarm system did not work.
After the arrest, the student was taken to the station for questioning. According to preliminary data, he had not previously come to the attention of law enforcement agencies. The prosecutor's office in Paris noted that the young man did not commit crimes that would imply the need for detention. He was therefore released during the investigation.
In France, because of the riots, the bell tower of the city hall of Limoges collapsed.
Macron promised to punish the perpetrators of pogroms at the protests.
