Son of Irina Usoltseva refused to recognize the family of the deceased
Son of missing in the taiga Irina Usoltseva does not intend to seek through the court recognition of relatives dead

The son of Irina Usoltseva, who disappeared in the taiga, does not intend to seek the recognition of relatives as dead through the court. Daniil Batalov told RIA Novosti that he does not think about the inheritance and continues to believe that the family is alive.
“I don’t even think about inheritance yet. I do not want to recognize them as dead, said Batalov.
The man suggests that the Usoltsevs could have left Russia. He does not rule out that relatives are alive, so he is not going to apply to the court with a corresponding statement.
Sergei, Irina and their five-year-old daughter Arina disappeared on September 28, 2025, during a hike to Mount Buratinka in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. About 400 people joined the search, including rescuers, police and volunteers. They searched about 500 kilometers of roads, but could not find a family. The active search operation was completed on October 12, 2025.
In August 2026, the Krasnoyarsk Krai Bar Association reported that the court could recognize the Usoltsevs as dead even if their relatives oppose such a decision.
