Due to temporary restrictions on the reception of aircraft at Moscow's Vnukovo airport, three airliners heading from Turkey to the Russian capital were forced to change course, being over the territory of Poland and Lithuania. This was reported by the aviation regulator.
The official report clarifies that three planes that flew to Vnukovo airport from Antalya, Istanbul and Izmir turned around for return, already in the airspace of Poland and Lithuania.
According to the source of the agency, currently all these flights follow in the direction of Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen airport. There will be a decision on the possibility of their re-flight to Moscow or on the organization of transfer of passengers on alternative flights.
Earlier, in the evening of October 17, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported on the successful interception and destruction of 12 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles that were heading for the Russian capital.
