From a pensioner from the Volgograd region seized more than 4.4 kg of a prohibited substance
The incident occurred in the Kamyshinsky district. This was reported in the GU MIA of Russia in the Volgograd region.
Criminal investigation officers of the inter-municipal department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Kamyshinsky” conducted operational-search measures at the man’s place of residence. There, they found plant matter in two bags and a box.
The examination showed that this drug is cannabis (marijuana). Its total weight is 4424.7 grams.
The man said that he collected wild plants on the territory of one of the rural settlements of the Kamyshinsky district. He kept them for personal use, he had no sales purpose.
Law enforcement officers opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - "Illegal acquisition and possession of narcotic drugs on a large scale." The pensioner was detained in accordance with Article 91 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation. Currently, the issue of electing him a preventive measure in the form of detention is being decided.
