A woman convicted of drunk driving has her family car confiscated

The Novomoskovskiy district court fined a local resident 210 thousand rubles for repeated driving while intoxicated. The woman was also deprived of the right to drive for two years and nine months, and the family Renault Duster was confiscated in favor of the state, told “MK in Tula” in the joint press service of the courts and DSD of the region.

According to the court, on the night of 2 to 3 September 2026, the woman was visiting with her husband. During the feast, the couple quarreled, after which she decided to go home on her own in the family car. The woman was driving through the streets of Novomoskovsk until she was stopped by traffic police.

Smelling the smell of alcohol, the inspector invited the motorist to undergo a medical examination. However, she refused to comply with the request of the police officer. The refusal was recorded in the presence of witnesses.

Earlier, in 2025, the woman was brought to administrative responsibility for refusing to undergo a medical examination. Therefore, this time her actions were qualified under Part 1 of Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The verdict was handed down on October 15, 2026. In addition to the fine and ban on driving, the court ruled to confiscate the Renault Duster, which belonged to the convict’s wife, and donate the car to the state. The signature on not leaving and proper conduct remained in force until the sentence entered into force. The court's decision can still be appealed.
