Soil damage for 528 thousand rubles compensated in the Astrakhan region

In Kamyzyak district, an unauthorized landfill of solid household waste was found on an agricultural plot of 1 hectare. Specialists of the Rosselkhoznadzor selected soil samples - laboratory studies of the Astrakhan Branch confirmed contamination of the upper layer of soil with chemicals.

The damage calculation carried out by the testing laboratory showed that the damage caused to the soil as an object of environmental protection amounted to 528,000 rubles. For the violation, the district administration was brought to administrative responsibility under Part 2 of Article 8.6 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation and fined.

The Rosselkhoznadzor appealed to the court to compensate for the damage, since cluttering the site leads to a deterioration in soil fertility. The court of first instance decided to recover the amount of damage from the administration. The arguments of the defendant in the appeal court were rejected: the court considered the claims of the department legitimate and confirmed sufficient evidence. As a result, the damage was compensated - the Rosselkhoznadzor Department received a notice of payment of more than 520 thousand rubles.
