In Bakhchisarai check the death of four kittens found on the playground

Residents of Krymskaya Street are asking to speed up the search for a man suspected of killing four kittens. Their bodies were found in the playground. The police are conducting an inspection, reports “KP-Crimea”.

The incident was first reported on social media. The local public said this may not be the first case of animal cruelty in the yard.

The author of the publication Elena said that a little more than a month ago, a yard cat gave birth to four kittens. Residents fed it, equipped a shelter for the cat and children from cardboard boxes with soft blankets and put it in bushes. When the kittens grew up and began to run around the yard, they were found dead on the playground.

“Either strangled or drowned ... I don't understand. But the fact is, we found these kittens on the playground. The jellyfish scattered them right in the place where our children usually play.

According to her, before the little kittens in the yard disappeared, but this time the bodies were left in plain sight. After the incident, residents appealed to the district, the prosecutor’s office and the head of the Crimea, hoping to speed up the search for the suspect. Elena said that while there is an inspection, and expressed hope that the guilty will be punished.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea confirmed that police officers of the Bakhchysarai district check the incident and establish all its circumstances.

Cruelty to animals, resulting in their death or injury, can entail a fine of up to 80 thousand rubles, compulsory or corrective labor, restriction of liberty, arrest or imprisonment for a term of three to five years. Under aggravating circumstances, the fine can reach 300 thousand rubles.

Earlier it was reported that in February 2026, a resident of the Krasnogvardeysky district, who scored a dog with a Soviet shovel, received a fine. The court took into account the position of the prosecutor and the admission of guilt. In January of the same year, the district prosecutor’s office sent to court the case of another local resident: he is accused of hitting a dog on the head with a shovel and leaving it to die.
