In Chelny, the employee of the migration unit was suspected of bribes from migrants

Law enforcement authorities of Naberezhnye Chelny initiated proceedings against an employee of the local department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. An employee of the migration department was suspected of systematically receiving illegal remuneration for assistance in the accelerated legalization of newcomers. Information about this was published in the regional office of the FSB in the Republic of Tatarstan, reports “Tatarstan 24”.

At the moment, the status of suspects received the security officer herself, as well as four other people who are accused of bribery. All detainees are in a temporary detention facility.

Analysis of operational materials indicates that the criminal scheme was established by immigrants from Uzbekistan, who formed a criminal group. For remuneration, the police inspector undertook to quickly register, assisted in obtaining labor patents, and opened access to closed databases of migration registration. According to preliminary estimates of the investigation, the illegal scheme operated for more than a year - from May 2025 to September 2026.

It is worth noting that one of the members of the criminal group involved in the transfer of funds to the accounts of an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, appears in parallel in another criminal proceeding. She is suspected of creating conditions for the illegal stay in the country of more than a hundred natives of Central Asia. To extend the migration deadlines, the attackers fabricated fake labor agreements and accompanying papers, after which they used the visitors to build private houses. None of these workers were registered with the IRS as an actual employee of the hiring organization.
