In Cherepovets launched an investigation into the circumstances of the death of a girl that occurred after surgery

The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Vologda region initiated a criminal case related to improper treatment of a three-year-old child in one of the Cherepovets hospitals. As investigators found out, in October 2026, the patient died in hospital after a planned surgical intervention. As part of the investigation, a set of forensic examinations was appointed, witnesses were questioned, medical documents were seized and studied.

Also, the Minister of Health Igor Petchin put the situation under his own control and ordered to organize an inspection to find out all the details of the incident and bring to justice those who are guilty.

According to the head of the regional Ministry of Health, after the inspection, appropriate decisions will be made. He offered condolences to the family and friends of the child.

Representatives of official structures assured that every detail of the tragedy will be subjected to careful analysis, and the perpetrators will be punished in accordance with the current legislation.
