Fraudsters continue to deceive citizens by promising cars from abroad. In October alone, 49 defrauded Russian citizens appealed to the Grodno regional customs. This was reported in the State Customs Committee, writes sb.by.

In total, they transferred 1 million Russian rubles to scammers for ghostly vehicles. The money was supposedly paid for various non-existent customs duties.
The customs are urged to carefully study the documents that are sent to individuals by intermediary firms. They are all fake and often contain the names of payments that do not exist: notifications about the need to pay “collateral” payments, commercial recycling fee and others.
Customs authorities emphasize that they do not issue invoices to private intermediary firms to pay duties and taxes by individuals. All official payments are made by the declarant or authorized person independently according to strictly established details.
