In Krasnodar ex-policeman fined for trying to relax in Abkhazia
Krasnodar regional court heard the case of a former employee of the internal affairs bodies who tried to leave Russia, although his right to leave was limited

The Krasnodar regional court heard the case of a former employee of the internal affairs bodies, who tried to leave Russia, although his right to leave was limited.
The man was found guilty of attempted departure from the country in the presence of a ban related to admission to state secrets.
The court found that while serving in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the man had access to classified information, including one marked “Top Secret”. After his dismissal in August 2024, he was restricted from leaving the Russian Federation, which is valid until July 2029. The man was officially notified of the ban.
However, in June 2025, while on vacation in Sochi, he decided to go to Abkhazia for tourist purposes and tried to cross the state border. The actions of the former security officer were stopped by officers of the border service of the FSB of Russia – he was denied the exit.
In court, the man fully admitted guilt. He explained that he knew about the restrictions, but expected that a trip on a Russian passport would not be considered a violation of the rules for the protection of state secrets.
Taking into account the circumstances of the case, the court sentenced the defendant to a fine of 200 thousand rubles, the joint press service of the courts of the Krasnodar Territory reports.
