In Kuban, a member of the network of underground pharmacies was convicted: in its points, potent drugs were illegally sold without prescriptions.
The Prikubansky district court of Krasnodar sentenced a woman involved in the operation of a large-scale network of illegal pharmacies in the region. She was found guilty on two counts - participation in a criminal community and illegal sale of medicines.
The court found that the criminal group began operating in January 2020. For several years, the attackers deployed a whole infrastructure: under the guise of pharmacies and warehouses worked at least 48 points where they traded drugs without a license. In the range were potent drugs - gabapentin, phenibut, cyclopentolate. They were sold without prescription, often without proper packaging, labeling and instructions for use, according to the criminal case file.
The tragic consequence of this illegal activity was the death of three minors, police found. In November 2023, teenagers died from acute combined poisoning with methadone and gabapentin - these substances they acquired in the underground points of this network.
The convict herself from June 2023 to March 2024 personally participated in sales: she released gabapentin and phenibut without prescriptions and the necessary accompanying documentation, knowing perfectly well that she acts outside the law.
As part of the investigation, criminal cases against a number of other members of the group have been separated into separate proceedings - many of them have already received sentences. Now the courts are waiting for two organizers of the criminal business, another defendant is wanted.
Taking into account the fact that the woman concluded a pre-trial agreement and actively assisted the investigation, the court sentenced her to 3 years and 6 months of imprisonment in a general regime colony, as well as a year of restriction of liberty.
The convict was taken into custody in the courtroom. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force, the Joint Press Service of the courts of the Krasnodar Territory reports.
