In Krasnoy-on-Volga sent to court the case of embezzlement of gold for 1.3 million rubles

The investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Krasnoselsky district completed the investigation of the criminal case against a local resident accused of appropriation and embezzlement on an especially large scale (part 4 of article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

According to the investigation, a 28-year-old employee of a jewelry company, who performed the duties of an accountant, committed the theft of precious metals for two months. Having direct access to the gold billets, she distributed them between the plots and secretly took them out of the factory.

The total amount of the stolen amounted to 239.5 grams of gold (21 g and 218.5 g in different periods). The cost of the stolen is estimated at 1.3 million rubles.

Trying to hide the traces of the crime after the beginning of an internal inspection at the enterprise, the accused voluntarily handed over 165 grams of gold to the police, staging his “toss”. However, the investigation established the true picture of what happened. Part of the stolen (53 grams) the attacker managed to realize, directing funds for personal needs.

The materials of the criminal case were transferred to the court for consideration on the merits. The accused faces a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
