In Kursk, scammers called a woman even while writing a statement to the police

In the Course, a 68-year-old local resident became the victim of telephone fraudsters who acted according to the scheme with “state treason”. The case is notable for the fact that the attackers did not stop trying to get in touch with the pensioner even when she was already in the interior Ministry.

According to law enforcement officers, an elderly woman received a call from a stranger who called himself an employee of law enforcement agencies. The interlocutor said that on behalf of the Kuryanka allegedly issued a power of attorney for a multimillion dollar amount intended to finance terrorists. Despite the absurdity of the accusations, the pensioner believed in what was happening.

Following the instructions of a stranger, the woman secretly purchased a new mobile phone from relatives and began to follow all his instructions. The culmination was the demand to transfer all savings for a “declaration”. The fraudster convinced the victim that the money must be withdrawn for verification, after which the funds will allegedly be returned in full, proving her innocence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Kursk region said.

Soon a courier arrived at the victim's house. Calling the code word, agreed earlier on the phone, he took the package, which was almost 2 million rubles.

The realization that real law enforcement officers do not require the transfer of cash came later. Doubts led the woman to the police, but at this point she continued to communicate with scammers on mobile. They categorically forbade her to enter the building, but this time the chicken disobeyed and crossed the threshold of the department.

After a conversation with the Interior Ministry staff, there was no doubt - the woman realized that she was a victim of deception. Nevertheless, even after the registration of the application, the criminals continued to terrorize the pensioner with calls, intimidating the disruption of a certain “special operation”.

The operatives are looking for suspects. It is noted that a few years ago, the woman had already found herself in a similar situation, but, unfortunately, the experience gained did not save her from repeated error.
