In Kursk, eight defendants in the case of cruel extortion are being tried

The industrial district court of Kursk sent a criminal case against a group of eight people. They are accused of extortion of money associated with violence, as well as intentional harm to health of moderate severity.

According to the investigation, the actions of the attackers were accompanied by bullying and the use of an object that played the role of a weapon, the joint press service of the judicial system of the Kursk region said.

As noted in the materials of the case, seven of the accused at the time of the incident did not reach the age of majority.

According to law enforcement officers, the reason for the conflict was personal hostility. The events unfolded on August 17, 2025 at the PLC in the area of the so-called warm channel in Kursk. Eight people attacked an adult young man: he was beaten, held by force, not allowed to leave, and made threats. At the same time, one of the attackers showed an object that looked like a gun. What happened was recorded on the phone.

Later, four participants of the attack put forward a demand to the victim for the transfer of 20 thousand rubles. According to the attackers, the money was intended as compensation for damage allegedly caused to the dog of one of the accused. In the future, the amount of claims increased to 41.5 thousand rubles.

The transfer of money was scheduled for September 1 in the village of Pryamitsino. The victim appealed to law enforcement agencies in advance, so the meeting was held under the control of operational services. After receiving funds, the defendants were detained. During the events, 19,950 rubles were seized, and 50 rubles one of the accused managed to spend on products, the court revealed.

According to experts, as a result of the attack, the victim suffered harm to the health of moderate severity.
