In the Leningrad region burned the body of a dead camel

In the Leningrad region, experts disposed of the body of a dead camel by burning, the press service of the regional veterinary department reported. The procedure was carried out in accordance with the requirements of veterinary legislation; additional samples were taken for especially dangerous infections.

Clinical signs of infections were not detected, and preventive measures in the household (including vaccination and regular sampling) were carried out in a timely manner.

At the same time, repeated and numerous violations were recorded in the economy itself. To resolve the situation, the materials were transferred to the Rosselkhoznadzor (for consideration of violations of veterinary legislation) and the administration of the Tosnensky district (for violations of animal grazing rules).

Earlier, eyewitnesses found the camel in serious condition in a ditch near Tosno; later the animal died. The reasons for what happened are still being established.
