In the Lipetsk region, drunk drivers were responsible for 70 accidents in nine months

For nine months of 2026 on the roads of the Lipetsk region registered 70 accidents involving drunk drivers. In these accidents, 12 people died, another 94 were injured. Such data were given in the regional traffic police.

Police regularly conduct raids to identify drivers who get behind the wheel while intoxicated. Over the weekend alone, traffic police detained 25 people who were driving drunk or refused to undergo a medical examination.

Two of the detainees have already committed a similar violation. In such cases, criminal liability is provided.

For driving a car in a state of intoxication faces a fine of 45 thousand rubles and deprivation of a driver's license for a period of one and a half to two years. The same penalty is provided for refusal of medical examination.
