The Prosecutor’s Office of the Right-Bank District of Lipetsk revealed the use of outdated textbooks on social studies in one of the city schools

The Prosecutor’s office of the right-bank district of Lipetsk revealed the use of outdated textbooks on social studies in one of the city schools.
The inspection showed that students of the 7th grade were given benefits that do not meet the standards in the field of education, and the norms of law specified in their text have already lost their force. This was reported in the Prosecutor’s office of the region.
In addition, the supervisory authority established that from September 1, 2026, the discipline of “Societal Studies” in Russian schools is studied only in grades 9-11. Thus, the subject in the schedule of seventh graders was outside the current requirements, and textbooks on it – outdated.
As a result of the inspection, the prosecutor made a submission to the school director. After its consideration from the curriculum of the 7th grade, the subject of “Social Studies” was excluded, and two officials of the educational organization were brought to disciplinary responsibility.
Changes in the teaching of social studies are associated with the transition of the school to updated federal standards, according to which the discipline is assigned to the senior link. Prosecutorial inspections in educational institutions are aimed at ensuring that the educational process complies with current standards, and schoolchildren are engaged in the current benefits.
