Employees of the technical supervision department of the Center for Road and Technical Supervision, Traffic Safety Promotion of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Luhansk People’s Republic checked the technical condition of urban passenger transport. The raid revealed serious irregularities in several carriers, from faulty brakes to steering problems.
“During the raid, we paid attention to the state of the braking system, steering and other components on which the safety of passengers depends,” the department said.
According to the results of the inspection, two buses were sent to a specialized parking lot. The drivers are brought to administrative responsibility. In addition, checks are being prepared against officials who released faulty transport onto city streets.
It should be noted that control over the technical condition of passenger transport remains one of the priority areas of the traffic police. Regular raids allow violations to be detected before they lead to traffic accidents. Special attention is paid to shuttle buses, since the lives of dozens of passengers daily depend on their serviceability.
The department stressed that the inspections will continue. Carriers were reminded of the need to timely carry out maintenance of transport and not to release cars with malfunctions on the line. Compliance with these requirements is a prerequisite for safe operation on urban routes.
