French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said that 60 law enforcement officers were injured as a result of riots and pogroms at protests on October 17.
On Saturday, large-scale protests took place across the country against the rising cost of living and prices, which were accompanied by fierce clashes between demonstrators and police, riots and pogroms.
At a news conference broadcast by BFMTV, Nunes said he had information about 60 injured internal security personnel. He said two of them were taken to hospital unconscious. The minister emphasized this fact, noting that it shows how cruel the attackers acted.
Earlier it was reported that France complained of large budget losses due to protests.
