In Nerecht, the widow and son of the military will be tried for illegal possession of ammunition

The prosecutor’s office approved the indictment in the criminal case against a 56-year-old resident of the district center and her 36-year-old son.

They became defendants in a criminal case opened under Part 3 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. This is the illegal acquisition and storage of ammunition committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy.

After the death of the head of the family, who had previously served in military service and participated in hostilities, 21 rounds of ammunition remained in the house. From May 2019 to June 2026, the mother and son kept the arsenal in violation of the law until the ammunition was seized by police officers during a search.

The defendants did not admit their guilt. They explained to the investigation that they considered these cartridges unsuitable for shooting, and kept them solely as a memory of the deceased father and husband. But the trial is ahead.
