In Nizhny before the court will appear 7 members of the armed gang

In Nizhny Novgorod, members of an armed gang who are accused of especially serious crimes - extortion of money from local entrepreneurs will appear in court. This was reported in the SU TFR for the region.

According to investigators, the 29-year-old Nizhny Novgorod, a member of a banned international social movement, in September 2025 created an armed gang in the city and attracted six friends to it. Armed with firearms, they attacked three local businessmen and under threat of violence demanded from 450,000 to 850,000 rubles. Fearing for life and health, the victims gave money.

According to the GU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region, the criminal leader single-handedly led the group, developed a scheme of criminal actions, coordinated and controlled each crime and personally shared the stolen among gang members. The activities of the defendants were stopped by law enforcement officers.

The criminal case was initiated against four citizens of a foreign state and three local residents: they are accused of banditry, illegal acquisition, possession and carrying of firearms and ammunition, as well as extortion. In relation to the alleged organizer of the organized crime group and one of its participants, a case was initiated on participation in an extremist community. According to the FSB in the region, four members of the gang were in Russia illegally.

All defendants aged 29 to 36 years were detained. The preliminary investigation is ongoing, said the official representative of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
