Bolotninsky district court of the Novosibirsk region ordered the local central district hospital to pay the patient 20 thousand rubles as compensation for moral damage for violation of the procedure for providing preferential medicines
According to the press service of the court, the woman appealed to the prosecutor’s office with a complaint that she was not given the full amount of drugs prescribed by a doctor. Because of this, the patient had to buy the necessary medicines for his own money.
After the intervention of the prosecutor's office, the hospital reimbursed the woman for the cost of buying medicines. However, the prosecutor also appealed to the court to compensate for moral damage.
The representative of the medical institution insisted on the absence of evidence of moral harm. The court disagreed with these arguments and found a violation of the patient’s rights.
As a result, the Bolotninsk CRB recovered 20 thousand rubles of compensation for moral damage. The decision has not yet entered into legal force.
