In the Novosibirsk region, a drunk driver was convicted of trying to bribe traffic police
In the Novosibirsk region, a 44-year-old resident of Maslyanino was convicted for trying to bribe employees of the traffic police

As reported in the Prosecutor’s office of the Novosibirsk region, the incident occurred on January 1, 2026. After drinking alcohol, the man sat behind the wheel of the car and went to visit a friend. On the way back he was stopped by DPS officers.
Fearing criminal liability, the motorist tried to negotiate with the police and offered them a bribe. Despite repeated refusals from inspectors, the man continued to insist on the transfer of money, each time calling different amounts.
Employees of the traffic police warned the driver about criminal liability for giving a bribe and reported that what is happening is recorded on video. But that didn't stop him.
As a result, the offender was removed from driving, and the vehicle was sent to the parking lot.
The Cherepanovsky district court found the 44-year-old man guilty of preparing to bribe an official. He was sentenced to two years of probation with a probationary period of two years.
Earlier, “MK in Novosibirsk” reported that the former inspector of traffic police Andrei Ivashchenko was in the dock on charges of receiving a bribe in the amount of 155 thousand rubles.
