In St. Petersburg detained the administrator of an illegal communication center, working for fraudsters

FSB officers together with the police stopped the illegal activity of a foreigner in St. Petersburg. The man administered illegal communication nodes that served the call centers of fraudsters, the press service of the FSB of the Russian Federation for St. Petersburg and Leningrad region reported.

In the course of operational-search operations, it was established that the man born in 1990 acted as part of a criminal group. He was the administrator of illegal communication nodes (SIM boxes) in the interests of Ukrainian call centers. The purpose of all activities was the remote theft of funds of Russian citizens.

Investigative authorities in the Central district of St. Petersburg initiated a criminal case under the article “Illegal use of a subscriber traffic terminal or a virtual telephone station”. The detainee is in custody. The investigation is ongoing.

Earlier, “MK in the Leningrad region” said that fraudsters under the guise of utilities attacked residents of the Slatevsky district.
