In the Rostov region, a man was sentenced to 8.5 years for murder out of jealousy

In Kamensk-Shakhtinsky sentenced 56-year-old local resident, who in April 2026 killed his friend. The crime occurred during a drunken quarrel, when the accused was jealous of his lover for a drinking partner.

According to the investigation, the men together with the woman drank alcohol. At one point, the jealous man noticed a "strange bond" between his companion and a friend. Then, in a fit of rage, he attacked the latter with a knife. The blow to the chest was fatal.

Trying to escape from the crime scene, the man was going to leave for another city by bus, but was detained by police at the bus station.

The Kamensky district court found him guilty of murder and sentenced him to 8 years and 6 months in prison with serving a sentence in a strict regime colony.

The sentence has not yet entered into force.
