In Saki opened a case of fraud: the “master” took 300 thousand and disappeared

In Saki, a 37-year-old local resident received 300 thousand rubles from a 39-year-old acquaintance for repairs to the house, but he did not perform the work and stopped communicating. The police opened a criminal case. This was reported in the press service of the interior Ministry in the Crimea.

Turning to the police, the Crimean woman said that she lost a large sum, trying to organize repairs in her own house. Police found that in April of this year, the victim agreed on construction work with her 37-year-old friend.

The man asked to lend him 300 thousand rubles and promised to repay the debt through repairs. The owner of the house believed and gave the money. However, having received funds, the “master” did not start the work. After a while, he stopped communicating, and he never fulfilled his obligations.

Criminal investigation operatives quickly established the location of the suspect. Earlier, an unconvicted resident of the Saka district confessed to what he had done. According to him, the repair was hampered by various circumstances: first the lack of electricity, then water, and then their own desire to fulfill the promise.

Now the defendant is ready to compensate for damages, but this does not relieve him from liability. A criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - fraud committed with causing significant damage to a citizen.

The suspect was selected a preventive measure in the form of a subscription not to leave. The sanction of the article provides for up to five years of imprisonment. The investigation is ongoing.

In September 2026, the court of Dzhankoy district sentenced a local resident to one year and six months of suspended imprisonment with a probation period of two years. The man agreed with the woman to repair her home, initially not planning to fulfill obligations, received 60 thousand rubles and disposed of them at his discretion.
