In Sharya, a terrible fire claimed the life of a woman and left 4 families homeless

The investigation into the destruction of a four-apartment building in the city of Sharya has been completed.

As a result of the tragedy that occurred in April 2025, one of the residents died, and four families lost their homes. The building was completely destroyed by fire.

According to the conclusions of the fire-technical examination, the cause of the fire was careless handling of fire. The fire was in the apartment of a man leading an antisocial lifestyle. During the interrogation, the defendant admitted that he drank alcohol and accidentally dropped the ashes from a cigarette on a blanket. Noticing the smoldering, he threw a burning blanket onto the terrace, but left it unattended, causing fire to spread throughout the building.

The man was charged under article 168 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation (destruction of property by negligence). The total amount of damage exceeded 3 million rubles. The criminal case with the approved indictment was sent to the court.
