In Sochi detained a suspect in drug possession

In the Central district of Sochi, police detained a 36-year-old local resident, who found 1.2 grams of mephedrone. On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was opened, the Internal Affairs Department for the city of Sochi reported.

According to the agency, the man was identified by employees of the drug control unit together with the operational detective department during operational activities. By appearance, he was in a state of intoxication.

Sochitz was taken to the police station. There, in the presence of witnesses, he laid out on the table a package with a powdery substance. The examination established that the seized substance is mephedrone weighing 1.2 grams.

Investigators opened a criminal case under part 2 of article 228 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation. The maximum penalty under this rule is up to ten years in prison.
