In Surgut revealed the scheme of embezzlement of budget funds in an educational institution

In Surgut, law enforcement officers stopped a large-scale scheme of embezzlement of budget money in one of the state educational institutions of the city. The operation took place with the joint work of employees of the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Surgut and colleagues from the Federal Security Service in the Tyumen region.

From 2017 to 2024, the director of the institution and her deputy, colluding with a number of persons, sent false information about the employment of citizens concurrently to the Department of Education and Science of Ugra. Based on these data, people who did not actually work in the organization were paid salaries.

Preliminary damage to the district budget is estimated at more than 1 million rubles. During the operational-search activities, six suspects were detained, searches were conducted at their places of residence and work – documents, communications and other materials important for the investigation were seized.

The Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Surgut opened a criminal case on fraud on an especially large scale. Under this article, the defendants may face up to 10 years in prison. Now the suspects are subject to a preventive measure in the form of a subscription not to leave.
