In the first nine months of 2026, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Surgut district, as part of their work to ensure information security, identified more than 30 Internet resources that host extremist and terrorist content. All the collected materials were transferred to the Roskomnadzor Department – the agency will make procedural decisions on blocking these sites.
Law enforcement officials are particularly concerned that such content is aimed primarily at young people. This creates the risk of involving minors and young people in illegal activities.
According to the laws of the Russian Federation, administrative or criminal liability is provided for the publication, distribution (including through reposts) and even storage of extremist materials. In this case, digital traces allow you to establish the fact of distribution of content even after the user has deleted it. To keep abreast of prohibited materials, experts recommend checking the federal list of extremist materials – it is published on the official website of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.
